In the square of Santa Ana, near Plaza Nueva, we can see in first term the church of San Gil and Santa Ana. It is one of the most visited churches of the city, because it is near the Alhambra and in the middle of the way that takes to the Alabaicín by the Carrear del Darro. This church was designed in century XVI by Diego de Siloe, and is of Renaissance style. The facade of plateresco style has a cover with semicircular arc. In the upper part a shield shows the Virgin Jesus Child.

In this square we can see also the Real Chancillería, important institution in imperial times, was translated in 1526 by king Charles I (emperor Charles V), from the Oidores street, in the Albaicín, to its present location. It is a majestic Renaissance palace, that lodges at the present time the seat of the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia.

Near we have the House of Pisa. This house is dedicated to the Life and work of San Juan de Dios. It is the house where San Juan de Dios died, it is a palace to mudéjar style, converted in a museum dedicated to the saint. There are relics and memories of him. The collection includes numerous iconography (recorded, painting, sculpture, jewels or ivories).

And something important: next to the church is the tourist information bureau.
