The Iberian city of Ullastret is an archaeological site located in the municipality of Ullastret, in Lower Ampurdán Girona, particularly in the so-called Monte Sant Andreu. Today is the largest urban centre of the Iberian culture discovered thus far in Catalonia. It is located in the territory that the Greek authors assigned to the tribe of the Iberian Indigetes (or indiketes).

The city was founded in the sixth century B.C. and since the end of this century was equipped with a powerful wall, that we can see in this panorama. Inside the city you can see remains of houses and tanks used to store grain, as well as public spaces, such as several temples. At the end of the third century B.C. the fortification was extended, almost doubling its surface. This change of defensive systems relates to an era of insecurity. In the last third of a century III B.C., coinciding with the start of the Second Punic War, major reforms in the system fortress were made.

It is not known with certainty the name of the city, the capital of indiketes was Indika/Untika, which probably can be identified with Ampurias. The preservation of the wall is partly because this was covered by a landslide in ancient times, so that the stones that formed could not be used to construct other buildings later.

The coins of the era found bearing the inscription ´Untikesken´ which should be the genitive of ´Untika / Indika´ the capital of this Iberian people.
