Duomo Square is at the heart of this picturesque village in Tuscany, known worldwide for its high towers, which give it a unique appearance. In this square we can find a collegiate with works of Romanesque and some additions of later centuries, which is located on the stairway that presides the square. Along with the collegiate we can see the Palazzo del Popolo, or the Palazzo Nuovo Podestá, of the thirteenth century, with its tower Grossa, 54 meters high. In the lower zone of the square, we see the palace Vecchio Podestá of the twelfth century, converted into theater in the eighteenth century, with its Rognosa tower, 51 meters high. At the corner leading to the square of the cistern we have the ´Loggia del Comune,´ which has three arches, two of them leading to the Plaza del Duomo and the third gives to the street leading to the square of the tank. Under these arches were held the acts related to the city government, the ´loggia´ was built in 1338 on land confiscated from the family Ardinghelli, belonging to the party of Ghibellines.
