´Paseo de los tristes´ (that means ´the way of the sad ones´) is a precious corner on the feet of the Alhambra. It is a square that extends next to the course of Darro river. It receives its name because formerly the funeral courtships happened this way before raising the cemetery that there is behind the Alhambra.
 
The square and the original fountain were constructed in 1609 when the zone was reconstructed. It is one of the most animated places of the city. Formerly, celebrations were celebrated here and in other times, the river was covered with tables to form a square for bullfighting, games, works, etc.

At the moment the square is surrounded by bars and restaurants, when the weather is warm it is a recommendable place to have fun.
